During week two of the FLX Unity Center Summer Enrichment program, aspiring fashionistas and entrepreneurs were challenged to create original brands, design apparel, and present their ideas to peers in partnership with Think Geneva Young Entrepreneur Academy.
“Throughout the week, youth explored the intersection of fashion, business, and self-expression while learning that entrepreneurship is about much more than starting a business—it’s about believing in your ideas, developing confidence, and creating opportunities for yourself and your community,” said FLX Unity Center Director Allauna Overstreet-Gibson. “Every activity encouraged creativity, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving while allowing each participant to express their unique personality and vision.”
At the end of the week, participants walked away with custom-designed apparel and accessories, as well as a stronger understanding of branding, marketing, public speaking, and the confidence to turn creative ideas into reality.
