Morelle Joins Nation in Saluting Vietnam Veterans at Bloomfield Ceremony

Congressman Joe Morelle recently visited Bloomfield to honor local Vietnam Veterans, presenting each with a Vietnam War Commemorative lapel pin and a certificate recognizing their military service.
The lapel pin was created as part of a national effort to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. Members of Congress were designated as Commemorative Partners in the initiative and were responsible for ensuring the pins were distributed to eligible Veterans in their home districts.
The ceremony drew not only Veterans but their families as well, turning the event into a broader community celebration of those who served and the loved ones who supported them. “This was a great event in which we were able to celebrate not only those who have served but also their families,” said Ontario Cares Veterans Coalition Program Coordinator Luke Moody, who was in attendance.
Vietnam Veterans hold a unique place in U.S. history, and ceremonies like this one reflect a continued commitment to ensuring their service is formally recognized at the local level.
