Local Resources
The following housing resources are available to residents of Ontario County and the greater Finger Lakes region, from emergency shelter and rent assistance to affordable housing, counseling, and long-term support for individuals and families at different stages of need.
The Geneva Housing Authority works to improve the quality of life for lower-income residents in Geneva and the surrounding area. Through public and private housing assistance programs, the authority helps community members access affordable, decent, and safe housing while also encouraging economic self-sufficiency.
Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes provides housing and rent assistance to individuals and families facing housing instability in the Finger Lakes region. Services include emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, and security deposits, as well as case management for those at risk of eviction.
Lakeview Health Services provides housing and supportive services to individuals across a six-county area. Their Mental Health Housing Programs offer safe living spaces paired with support services to aid in recovery, while their Affordable Housing Apartments provide modern, amenity-equipped housing open to community members.
Serving more than 700 individuals across nine central New York counties, Unity House offers transitional and permanent housing, respite care, and rehabilitative and employment services for those living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders.
Through their Emergency Shelter Program, Eviction Prevention Program, and Shelter Diversion Program, Family Promise provides a range of support to families with at least one child under 18 who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
The Housing Council at PathStone provides comprehensive housing support for tenants, homeowners, and those experiencing homelessness in Monroe County and surrounding areas, including Ontario County. Their services include housing counseling, eviction intervention, landlord training, and inspection services for rental programs.
